THIN-FILM particle coatings. PURE layers. DENSE structures. NEW materials. INNOVATIVE applications.

Our mission

pomodoi GmbH was founded as a highly innovative high-tech start-up in January 2022 that is oriented on process and hardware. We set out to revolutionize the coating and thus the functionialization of individual particle surfaces from powder-like materials. Such customized new materials are interesting for a wide variety of sectors including research and development as well as powder industries.

While we see ourselves as a young and dynamic company, we at the same time build upon many years of experience. Thanks to our team of scientists, engineers and business developers that have been working in the field of industry-related R&D, we gather all the knowledge necessary for such a great enterprise.

CPC Technology: Supported by the Saxon Development Bank and the European Union

Based on investments from Saxon business angels, pomodoi GmbH is developing a novel vacuum‑based coating technology for powder‑shaped materials. Within the framework of the SAB R&D Program and the BAB Program, this project is funded by the Free State of Saxony and the European Union.

Project Objective
The aim of the project is to develop an R&D pilot system that enables, for the first time, efficient, homogeneous, and complete functionalization of individual powder particles through an innovative physical coating process.

This new technology – based on the patented CPC Technology (Cyclo Particle Coating) – allows the application of ultra‑thin, high‑quality functional layers for applications such as lithium‑ion batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen technologies, additive manufacturing, filtration systems, and pharmaceutical materials.

Scope of the R&D Project

  • Construction of an R&D system for vacuum‑based coating of individual particles from powder media
  • Development of new process modules for particle feeding, guiding, and extraction
  • Establishment of an innovative physical coating methodology
  • Integration of advanced simulation tools for modeling particle dynamics
  • Testing various powder types relevant to future technologies
  • Validation of coating quality through material science analytics

Results and Progress

Thanks to the support of the SAB, significant milestones have already been achieved:

  • Development of the CPC process architecture
  • Construction of essential hardware components for the pilot system
  • Successful simulations of particle movement within the coating zone
  • Initial validation of coating performance on selected powder materials

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Saxon Development Bank (SAB), the Free State of Saxony, and the European Union for their financial support.
