It is our goal to put forth new powder materials for the benefit of our industrial customers. With our CPC technology it is possible to produce dense and homogeneous specific layer thicknesses of a few nanometers. Due to the supreme qualities of both layer and interface the resulting materials stand out from the state of the art and promise improved or completely new material properties.

In addition to that, the vacuum-based method consequently entails that the application is extremely sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Industrial application - an example

Our innovative CPC technology has applications in many industries. In addition to utilization in fuel cells, hydrogen production, metallurgy, 3D printing, metallic coatings, cosmetics, and the pharmaceutical industry, there is also a significant market in the automotive industry. The latter is in huge demand for the increase of the range of electric vehicles, the minimization of their charging times, and the reduction of costs. Ideally this comes with using materials in a very sustainable and environmentally conscious way.

The reduction of contact resistances in a cell and the electrochemical stabilization of the surfaces of electrode powder materials are of great interest. Another aim is to meet the customer’s demand for improved value chains in terms of using more environmentally friendly solvents.

Layers that are applied sufficiently thin, dense layer structures, as well as interfaces of the highest quality and purity are very beneficial. Up to now, conventional coating technologies have merely been able to apply layers in an extremely unspecific manner. Apart from that the coating rates of alternative modern thin-film concepts are currently too low – and therefore very expensive.

As of today, our patented CPC technology provides a process for the functionalization of particles from powder media. It enables an innovative coating technology for battery applications and has the potential to significantly improve the performance and efficiency of battery systems.
